Welcome to the Precision Manufacturing Centre, an international centre of specialist engineering excellence based at The University of Nottingham

We have a world-class research reputation. The 2008 UK Research Assessment Exercise confirmed our University’s status as internationally leading and ranked us in the top five UK universities for engineering.

This reputation has attracted funding from a wide range of stakeholders including the EU, regional development agencies, major funding bodies and commercial companies of all sizes.

We recognise the importance of knowledge transfer in manufacturing for the UK economy and since 2006, the centre has assisted in excess of 300 businesses across the UK and in particular the regional business through the Advanced Manufacturing Technology East Midlands project. This project is part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Our customers range from locally based small to medium sized enterprises to large multi-national corporations in the aerospace, defence, automotive, energy and medical devices sectors.
