Cooperation Environment for Rapid Design, Prototyping and New Integration Concepts for Factory of the Future - COPERNICO
COPERNICO will achieve a 5-factor improvement in manufacturing performance, in one fifth of the time it takes using current practice, by supporting the introduction of advanced manufacturing technology and simultaneously considering 5 factors (Training, Man-machine interface, Trials, Support tools and Environment) through the use of a virtual modelling environment.
The strategic priorities that COPERNICO will contribute to are:
• Conception and development of new methodologies and innovative tools to enable and support rapid design and prototyping of whole production systems
• The creation of holistic, integrable, upgradable, scalable, virtual factories
• Close integration of product process and plant development through dynamic modelling, optimisation, simulation and visualisation
