Professor Svetan Ratchev
Director of the Precision Manufacturing Centre, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Customised Assembly

Professor Svetan Ratchev is a world-renowned expert in precision manufacture, including assembly automation, precision machining, process modelling and manufacturing systems integration. The author of over 130 publications, he is a fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, member of the International Federation of Automatic Control, a technical expert for the IET PN in robotics and mechatronics, founding chair of the International Precision Assembly Seminar and Chair of the University European Research Strategy Group, where he leads the strategic EU agenda for Nottingham.
Svetan has extensive project management and leadership experience. He is currently coordinating the EU FRAME project focused on fast ramp up self-learning assembly systems and is a founding member of the EU Technology Platform on Micro-Nano-Manufacturing (MINAM), and a member of the MINAM Operations and Support Group.
