Daniel gained a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University in 2004. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham in 2006, Daniel gained experience working at TQC Ltd, an SME based in Nottingham. Here he developed and integrated manufacturing systems as well as working on two EU research projects: E-Race and EUPASS. Daniel is currently studying for his PhD in the area of reconfigurable assembly systems; specifically developing a capability model and reconfiguration methodology for multiple system reconfigurations.
He primarily works within the 3D-Mintegration project, an EPSRC Grand Challenge. He is investigating the production of a number of innovative micro products, including a micro probe developed by NPL for use in nano-precision CMMs. He also works as an engineer within the PMC facilities developing two assembly platforms and managing a number of small ‘proof of concept’ projects.
