Thomas joined the Precision Manufacturing Centre in 2006 and is working towards the completion of his PhD, currently involved in the EU project AFFIX.

He received a 1st Class Diploma in Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering with a major in Manufacturing from the University of Patras, Greeece in 2005, then continued as a Research Assistant. He was a founding member and team/project manager of the University of Patras Formula Student team from 2002 to 2006.

Thomas’s main research interest involves advanced fixturing solutions, with the main focus being on design of adaptive, reconfigurable fixtures, dynamics of fixture-workpiece interaction and the development of novel fixturing strategies. Within the context of AFFIX, he is also working closely with Rolls-Royce plc. in the development of new fixturing solutions for the Trent engine series.
