Rob Darlington

Rob gained his BEng degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Management in 2002 and his PhD in 2005 at Loughborough University. His studies included work on waste minimisation in convenience food manufacture covering aspects of simulation, planning and scheduling, waste modelling and lean manufacturing. Rob has worked as a Project engineer and Team leader with several companies on virtual engineering and process improvement projects.
Rob joined the PMC in 2010 as a Senior research fellow, his main research interests range from the simulation of production environments, to the development of tools to enhance mapping of processes. Rob’s current work includes the development of an integrated design and manufacturing methodology which uses simulation and cost modelling tools to deliver more cost effective products.
