Shukri Afazov

Dr. Afazov graduated from the University of Rouse (Bulgaria) in 2005 and obtained BEng in Mechanical Engineering. He continued his studies at the University of Nottingham to obtain a PhD in 2009. He then took up a research fellowship position at the University of Nottingham and is currently a member of the Precision Manufacturing Centre.
Dr. Afazov is currently involved in MicroTool project. His research is focused on: Numerical and analytical modelling of micro-machining processes; Prediction of cutting forces, process stability and surface finish in micro-milling; Finite element modelling of different material behaviours (e.g. size-effect, hardness effect, etc.); Integration of micro/nano-scale manufacturing processes and development of data exchange environment.
